SEAMLESS

Premiering in NYC Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026, SEAMLESS is a performance-piece that combines Classical music with commissioned high fashion and modern dance, challenging and elevating audience perceptions of each artform.

The program traces three familiar classical archetypes: i. lament for the dead, ii. struggle against an adversary, and iii. the hero’s journey.

Using both old and new Classical music as the narrative base, this collaboration explores how Classical music, dance, and fashion all come alive via their evocation of movement. Through a holistic, 3-dimensional performance design that provides several avenues for the communication of aesthetic ideas, SEAMLESS aims to elevate and expand the concept of a Classical performance, stretching its seams to their limits.

SEAMLESS aims to bridge the gap between Classical musicians and other creative artists. Outside of ballet and Broadway musicals, established interdisciplinary connections for Classical musicians are extremely uncommon and this project is my Opus 1 in expanding this vista. Here are some aims specific to SEAMLESS:

• Bring together different types of artists as well as their audiences

• reimagine the Classical image, unshackling the centuries-long suit-and-tie uniform for male-identifying musicians so that performers of all genders can present their most authentic selves

• make thoughtful lighting and fashion design an expectation for standard Classical music performances

• create space for performers to curate their own outfit language

• Make interdisciplinary work more fulfilling and common for Classical musicians

The three archetypes of SEAMLESS inform this season’s three programs, which are pairable with lighting, fashion, dance, and even audience-driven visual art creation.
